About
Myself - Jeff Fina
I started Hudson Valley Giclée in January of 2008 in response to local printer Robert Cox's desire to retire from the business after many faithful years of local service. I have been working in this field since 2005 as a photographer and took my extensive knowledge of digital workflow and print to create this company. I am a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom, a National Endowment of the Arts Recipeint and an artist. I have also worked very closely with artist Bruce Bleach for many years and with his knowledge and mastery, I have been able to take the standards of the larger fine art market into consideration with every print and project I work on. I constantly seek the latest standards in print, web, and computer technology to make my services less expensive, easier to implement, and always keeping the standard high. I do not cut corners for profit and will never sacrifice quality. I am building a website for my personal work which I will post when finished.
My Company - Hudson Valley Giclee
Mission Statement:
My primary mission is to create stunning high quality archival editions using the Giclée process while maintaining strong communications with the artist to ensure a great printed product.
Additionally, we aim to support the artist, photographers, designers and art organizations in developing and marketing their work and themselves.
General Synopsis:
Located in the Hudson Valley and with prints residing in the World Bank, the Chrysler Building and many other locations, we pride ourselves on having a local approach when dealing with clients while maintaining the high standards of the larger art market. We aim to assist the artist in developing a voice through the printed Giclée edition. Editions are meant to support an artists and their original works, not replace them. Our Giclée editions will never match your original work. Instead, editions serve the artist by allowing them to market a collectable piece of work for a reasonable price while maintaining their standards with the original works. For artist who work purely in the digital space and who have no solid 'original', fine art editions are the only way to allow their work to come to life.
Long Term Goals:
We understand that technology can change the way we see and share digital information. The fine art community has always been one step ahead of the common public when it comes to pushing the limits and experimenting with new ideas. I will strive to push beyond the limits of average usage of technology to create different looks that will please a diverse artist body. I will also push to keep pace with technology and art trends that shape the way we enjoy fine art from the digital form. It is very important for us to listen to the needs of the artist and galleries, so feedback is important. I want to know what makes the artist and viewers of art tick, what they enjoy, etc. I will constantly strive to create editions that work for each individual artist, an edition that reflects the hard work the artist put into creating the original.
